Intelligent Delivery technology, a moniker for Pulse Dose oxygen delivery essentially means that the oxygen is delivered in a pulse dose also known as a bolus each time you breathe in. What the Inogen Portable Concentrators does is that when your respiratory rate or your breathing pattern changes, the machine will actively align itself to accommodate it so that you make the best and the most of your oxygen therapy. When your breathing rate increases, the bolus sizes are reduced to avoid oxygen wastage (on expiration) whereas when your breathing rate decreases such as when you are sleeping, the machine will react accordingly to increase the bolus size for the longer intake of breath (inspiration).
