Can oxygen help with asthma?
In general medical oxygen therapy is not suitable for mild or moderate asthma attacks. In the case of a severe asthma attack the patient should be rushed to an emergency room as soon as possible. During a severe asthma attack oxygen therapy may be administered to maintain peripheral capillary oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels above 95%.
We recommend you contact your GP or respiratory specialist if you have any concerns with your asthma maintenance or treatment.
